Hello and welcome to my family tree. I just started the research of my family in June 2007. I have been wanting to do this for awhile now and have recently found the time. I am mainly of Irish(Scotch), German, and Italian descent but have found ancestors in England, Isle of Man, and France. Please browse around and let me know what you think.

Take a look here for
family terminology on cousin kinship.

Family History Snippets
-My Great Great Grandfather (and my surname namesake) immigrated over to America
in 1871 shortly after Bavaria became part of the German Empire.
-The Carran family (Father Side) has been in America the longest immigrating in
1839 from the Isle of Man.
-While I have several relatives that were in WWI and WWII, within the American
and English military, only 1 relative was in the American Civil War.
-On my mother's side of the family I am only third generation American and hence
so are my brother and our 18 cousins.
-Two family members changed their last name (one immigrated to America, the
other stayed in the U.K.)...Unknown as to why.
-I am still looking for distant cousins in Scotland and Ireland.
-As to my cousins, if you put us in age order from oldest to youngest we are
boy, girl, boy, girl down the line until the last 2 (girl, boy).

Acknowledgments
First I would love to thank my Grandmother. Without her knowledge my family
tree would never have grown.
Thank you to my various aunts, uncles and cousins who also have helped with
information.
A special thanks to my aunt and uncle for my father's family tree as they did
almost all the research there.

NOTES:
All females are listed under their maiden names. If I could not find their
maiden name most likely they are listed in the Unknown category.
Also if you have any information you think pertinent (for example misspellings,
birth dates, marriage dates, missing family members, etc.) please email me with
them.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
